This Time I Had Almonds: Curried Chicken Salad

I just had some Curried Chicken Salad and it was amazing, so I thought I'd share it again. One small change was the Almonds I used, rather than Pine Nuts.

The Adventures of an Empty Kitchen
I went to the store today for a few things, such as apples, and bread. I ended up getting a lot more than I expected. I couldn't live with an empty kitchen anymore (I've been in my new apartment for 5 days now!). So I got some things that will not go bad, that every kitchen should have: Flour, Sugar, Brown Sugar, Cocoa, Spices, and Canned Goods. I also got some chicken and mayonnaise, thinking I would make the lovely meal above. I got home and started cutting apples, and celery, and carrots when I realized "I don't have a bowl for this!" Ok, I'll make due with the tupperware that I got the celery and carrots in. "Wait a second, I don't have anything to stir it with." That one took a bit longer, but finally I figured out I had some measuring spoons that would probably work. I did end up getting pretty messy in during this adventure, but that's what makes it an adventure, right?

Baked Apples!

I finally cooked something! Living in hotels for the past...1,2...4, 5 1/2 months has been pure torture. Of course I still don't have a place, but I used Claire's. She as a gas stove, and I'm a little bit jealous. I really want to be able to use one for a while to see how they work. But for now I'll have t make due with Baked Apples.

I got some LOVELY Fuji apples at the store for my little sister. Then I remembered she only eats Granny Smiths. Shoot. But it just so happened that I got some Old Fashioned Oats and some brown sugar. Mmmm....

Baked Apples

Approximately (I just dumped stuff into the bowl)
1 c Brown Sugar, loose
1 c Oats
1 t Cinnamon
1/2 t Cloves

Butter

Turn the oven on to 400*. Mix the sugar, oats, cinnamon and cloves. Halve and core an apple, and place on a cookie sheet, or a bread pan ;) (I left the rest for Claire to use whenever she wants, but you could probably get 3 or 4 apples out of this batch) Spon the mixture over the apples until the cut surface is covered. Top with about 1 teaspoon of butter. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until you can smell them cooking.

ENJOY!

An Exploit: Sky Diving, Take II

So, I went SkyDiving again. We were supposed to go as a big group(7) again. Unfortunately I've learned this week that boys are not very reliable. They are never there on time, and half the time they don't even tell you when they decide to postpone a trip for a week, ie. skydiving trip. So Mariel and I conned Taras into driving us down since I won't be around for "next week's" trip.

We ended up having a lot of fun. And got some good studying in as well. Oh, and some pretty fantastic Barbecue Chicken Pizza! (On the list of things to try to make!)

Practicing pulling the rip cord

Getting ready for spins!

Taras is jealous of our jump, and Mariel is practicing for formations

We're all set, just waiting for the "newbies"

Ooh, ooh, ooh formation time!

Practicing some more for formations.

I am setting a new fashion statement, these glasses are going to be all the rage next season

Waiting for the plane. The lady in the middle is Scooter, I jumped with her.

Coming in for landing!

"It was a GREAT jump!"

PS. I have more pictures, but the Internet was being stupid.
